Click here for a thankyou message from Johannes following the 2012 Marathon
On Saturday June 4 2011 the L'Arche Lambeth community took part in the inaugural L’Arche Lambeth Walk to help raise money:
- for next year’s L'Arche Lambeth Pilgrimage to Canterbury
- and for the Ivory Coast Community.
With the sun shining down, lots of beautiful food and cake, and the community gathered to walk and celebrate, a great day was had by all. An inordinate amount of thankyous to everyone who helped make the L'Arche Lambeth Walk such a success - whether that be through donations, their presence in the park and/or those who have given up their time to make the idea a reality.
Who knows...maybe it will become a tradition!
It is not too late to raise funds for these two very good causes:
L'Arche Lambeth Pilgrimage to Canterbury
Last year, for the first time in very many years, our community could not afford to go on pilgrimage to Canterbury, so we have missed the walks across Kent and our friends’ welcome in various parishes along the way. We needed to raise money to enable the pilgrimage to happen in 2012 - and we did! Now we must sart focusing on the next Pilgrimage...
L’Arche Community in the Ivory Coast
We are also raising funds for our sister L’Arche Community in the Ivory Coast, a country where the people are suffering from the ongoing civil war and spiralling food prices. Follow the link to find out more about L’Arche in the Ivory Coast.
You can send money in two ways:
Donate through our Virgin money giving site:
To donate using cash or cheque:
Make out a cheque payable to L’Arche Lambeth.
So that L’Arche Lambeth can claim gift aid on your donation if you pay by cheque or cash, please also provide
- your address,
- write the following statement:
'I have paid at least my donation in tax this year'
- and sign it.
That will increase the value of your donation to us, without any extra cost to you.
Please send cash, cheque and gift aid form to:
L'Arche Lambeth Walk Organiser Gothic Lodge 21 Idminston Road, London SE27 9HG.
We are extremely grateful for anything you can give.
